Aligning with our IB Primary Years Program seeking to develop global citizens, homeroom classes will be demonstrating the IB Attitudes/Learner Profile Traits learned in PE while competing in fun games & team activities during Field Day.
Field Day is May 17th, and we are delighted to invite parent volunteers to make this event a fun, safe, and memorable experience for everyone involved. No special skills or experience required other than having a fun, outgoing personality and the ability to read the game rules posted at each station. *COSTUMES are encouraged but NOT required!
*Don't worry, we have completely modified the rules to focus on fun for our 3rd, 4th & 5th graders!

FIELD DAY FAQ's:
1) What does my child need to participate?
Students will be decorating their own Field Day t-shirts. Please check with your child's homeroom teacher to confirm that they are making Field Day shirts & send a plain white t-shirt to school with your child asap (prior to May 17th) so that they can start designing. On Field Day, May 17, 2024, student should have a towel, proper footwear (no sandals, flip flops, or any open-toe shoes are allowed), and a full water bottle!
2) What time does it start?
Third grade: 8:00am - 10:00am
Fourth grade: 10:00am - 12:00pm
Fifth grade: 12:00pm - 2:00pm
*Field Day is at F.AVE using our indoor Multipurpose Room plus upper & lower outdoor spaces. In the event of rain, we will simply modify some of the games/activities if we are restricted to indoor space.
3) How can parents help?
A list of volunteer opportunities is listed below if you click on the Sign Up Genius button.
*Volunteers should arrive 10 minutes prior to the shift they signed up for and check-in at the "Volunteer Registration Table" in the lobby. Once you are checked in, you will be given a name tag, a map, a copy of the game rules and rotation schedule. Thank you!
If you are able to donate any extra t-shirts for students in need, you can purchase 3-packs of Hanes white undershirts rather inexpensively at your local discount store and send them to school with your child.
*If you cannot donate your time, there is also a list of supplies (above) which are greatly needed & appreciated!
5) What should my child wear to Field Day?
Field Day team t-shirts, comfortable shorts, sneakers, sunglasses, hats, and sunscreen should be worn! Please be sure that your child comes dressed appropriately. Flip flops, high heels, and sandals will not be allowed for participation during the games because they are unsafe. Many of the activities involve running...if your child is wearing inappropriate footwear, he or she will NOT be allowed to participate in the games!
6) Where can I find a copy of the game rules?
The updated game rules will be posted below. If it rains and you have volunteered for an outdoor station, you will be re-assigned to an indoor station.
